If the patient requires horizontal prism, this can not be supplied in contact lenses, therefore may be a contraindication to CL wear.  However, in some cases where small amounts of prism are required in spectacles the patient may do fine without it in contact lenses.  Presumably due to better peripheral fusion and fewer aberrations.

  11. A strabismic patient who does not 
  12. have a cosmetic problem when 
  13. wearing spectacles may be very 
  14. disappointed when wearing contact 
  15. lenses because the strabismus is 
  16. more noticeable.
